Chizu is a city in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It has a population of 243,477 and is the capital of the Chizu District. Chizu is known for its ancient temples and shrines, as well as its tea gardens. The city was designated an international tourist center in 2005. Some popular attractions in Chizu include the Hōryū-ji Temple, which has been designated a World Heritage Site; the Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū Temple; and the Yamanote Park.
