Snina is a small town in Slovakia with an interesting history. The town was first settled by Celts, who named it Snina after the goddess Danu. The Romans later conquered the area and built a Legionary fortress here. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the region passed through many hands and by the 12th century, Snina had become a small village. In 1392, King Vladislaus II converted to Judaism and ordered that all Christian churches be destroyed in Snina and throughout Slovakia.
