Attkarsk is a small town in the Tyumen region of Russia located about 190 kilometers east of Tyumen and about 520 kilometers north of Moscow. The town was founded in 1794 as a military outpost on the border with Siberia, and it served as the administrative center for a number of districts in that region. Today, Attkarsk is an important port on the Yenisey River, and it has a population of about 18,000 people.
