Brooklyn Park, Minnesota is a small town located in the southwestern corner of Saint Louis County. As of the 2010 census, Brooklyn Park had a population of 6,535. The town is surrounded by neighboring towns and villages including West St. Paul to the north, Maplewood to the east, Robbinsdale to the south, and Brooklyn Center to the west. Brooklyn Park was founded in 1871 and named after one of its early settlers, Charles H. Kingsbury. The town developed as a transportation hub due to its location at the junction of several rail lines.
