Sun Prairie is a small town located in west-central Wisconsin. It is the county seat of Washington County and has a population of just over 12,000 people. The town was founded in 1851 and was originally called Union Grove. Sun Prairie is home to the Washington County Historical Museum which contains exhibits on the local history, including a replica of the first courthouse. The town also has a number of parks and recreational facilities, including a playground and public swimming pool.
