Seminole is a historic town in Hood County, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1859 by James and Nancy Ann Moore and named for the Seminole tribe of Native Americans. The town was once the largest cotton-growing center in the state, but now has a population of 1,663 as of 2010. The community is home to the Hood County Courthouse and several businesses. Seminole also boasts two churches, a post office, a grocery store, an ice cream shop and several restaurants.
