Dunbar is a small town in Eastern Kentucky with a rich history. The town was founded in 1792 and was named for Robert Dunbar, the Scottish poet who wrote about life in the Scottish Highlands. Today, visitors can see many of Dunbar's historical buildings, including the courthouse, bank, and post office. There are also several museums within walking distance of the town center, including the Weaver Museum of American Art and the Dunbar Historical Museum.
