Middle Island is a small, unincorporated community located in Orleans County, New York. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. The village is on the eastern shore of Oneida Lake and includes the small hamlet of East Middle Island and the larger hamlet of West Middle Island. There are several restaurants and businesses on Main Street as well as a general store, post office, library and churches. Visitors can enjoy swimming, boating and fishing in Oneida Lake or take a scenic drive around the island.
