Gray is a small town located in the hills of eastern Kentucky. The town was founded in 1876 and has since grown to have a population of just over 2,000 people. It is home to the Gray Opera House, which was built in 1907 and is considered one of the finest examples of Romanesque Revival architecture in the country. Other attractions include Gray's Cave, which is said to be the site of a cave containing an underground river; Gray Observatory, which features exhibits on astronomy; and Gray County Historical Museum, which houses artifacts from the area's history.
