University Park is a small town in Harris County, Texas, United States. It is located southeast of Houston and northeast of San Antonio. As of the 2010 census, the town had a population of 9,930. University Park was founded in 1886 as a railroad stop on the Houston and Texas Central Railway. The town was named for the University of Pennsylvania which donated land for the town's first school, now known as University Park Elementary School.
