With a population of 12,000 in 2015, Derby is the largest town in Franklin County. The town was first settled in 1727 by Eleazar Wheelock and his family. Derby was chartered on March 3, 1729, and named for Derbyshire, England. The primary industries include tourism and manufacturing.
