Basalt is a small town located in the northeast corner of Wyoming, and is the county seat. The population was 1,549 at the 2010 census. Basalt is known for its hot springs and natural gas wells. Basalt is also home to the Basalt Dinosaur Museum, which features life-sized replicas of some of the biggest dinosaurs ever found in Wyoming.
