Hellesdon is a small market town in Northamptonshire, England. It is located about 22 miles north west of the City of London and 8 miles south east of Rugby. The name Hellesdon derives from the Old English "helle" meaning "a clearing in a forest", and "dun" meaning "hill". The town was first mentioned in the Domesday Book as Haldinsele. There are remains of a castle built by Robert de Mortimer, sixth Earl of Leicester, which dates from the 13th century.
