Shch kino (Шч кио́н) is one of the most beautiful and preserved towns in Russia. It is located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, about 700 kilometers northeast of Moscow. The area was part of ancient Khanty territory and was first mentioned in chronicles in 1496. In 1643, Shch kino became a part of 70 settlements comprising Khanty-Mansi Uyezd within Russian Siberia.
