Armavir is a small town in the Russian Federation, located about 180 kilometers southwest of Moscow. The town was founded in 1788 by Prince Ivan Andreyevich Golitsyn and became an important center for trade between Russia and Persia. Today, Armavir is a popular tourist destination because of its well-preserved architecture and historical sites. The town features several churches, including the Church of the Transfiguration (1774), the Church of St. Nicholas (1775), and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior (1871).
