Kwidzyn is a small town in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland. It is located on the confluence of the Pilica and Narew Rivers, approximately 100 km east of the regional capital Białystok and 50 km west of the Belarusian border. The town has a population of 14,000. Kwidzyn was first mentioned in documents from 1105 and was granted Magdeburg rights by Duke Boleslaus III Wrymouth of Poland in 1249.
