Quchan is a city located in north-western Iran, close to the border with Turkmenistan. The city has a population of around 290,000 and has many historic sites and attractions. These include the Quchan Citadel, which was built in the 9th century AD by the Buyid dynasty, and the tombs of several prominent medieval Iranian scholars, including Rudaki and Omar Khayyam. Quchan is also home to a number of museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts and History and the Museum of Textile Art.
