Sosa is a small town in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. It is situated about 130 kilometers south of the regional capital, Addis Ababa. The town has a population of about 10,000 people and is known for its monasteries. There are also a number of churches and mosques in the town. Sosa was established in 1889 by Emperor Menelik II and was originally called Tselemt.
