Xiulin is a small town in north-central China that is known for its scenic landscape, interesting history, and variety of cultural attractions. Xiulin has a population of about 25,000 people and is located about 300 kilometers south of Beijing. The town is best known for its long history as the home of the Xiulin Horse Racing Festival, which takes place every summer. Other attractions in Xiulin include the Lingyin Temple, which was built in 751 AD, and the Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park.
