Gunnedah is a small town in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. It is located about 230 kilometres east-southeast of Sydney and 30 kilometres northwest of Dubbo. The town was established in 1835 as part of the Great Western Highway project and was originally called Upper Gunnedah. The name was changed to Gunnedah in 1851 after a gold rush. Tourists come to visit the historical buildings, natural attractions, wineries and scenery.
