General Pico is the highest peak in the Andes mountain range and is located in the province of Chaco, Argentina. The mountain was first climbed by Francisco de Urquiza and his party in 1853. The summit can be reached by taking a number of routes up the mountain, including the traditional route known as "The Old Route". There are also some more challenging routes that require glacier skiing or mountaineering equipment. Some of the other attractions include lakes situated at high altitudes, glaciers, alpine meadows and forests.
